The year at a glance:
Reading Writing Word Study |
At Meroby we have what's called a Balanced Literacy model. We have a somewhat integrated reading/ writing workshop where students learn to become independent readers and writers through the study of text, genres and more. We also teach word study (spelling) using the Words Their Way program. |
Math |
In Math we use the Math Trailblazers program. In third grade we cover graphing and data, computation (+ - x ÷), geometry, measurement, and fractions. |
Social Studies |
In Social Studies our emphasis is on communities. We use the Harcourt Social Studies texts. |
Science |
In Science there are four units of study we cover: Rocks and Minerals, Chemical Tests, the Human Body, and Space. We also cover the Water Cycle. |
